We are now looking for a circularity/design intern to join the Sustainability and Fabric team at our Head Office in Stockholm

Filippa K garments are thoughtfully designed for longevity, and we are constantly looking into finding new circular solutions and creative ways of working throughout all stages of a product’s life. Circularity work at Filippa K is connected to all the functions of the company and it includes both design thinking and creative experimental hands-on approach to processes. The goal is to increase the lifespan of garments whether it be supporting design with design for repairability, feeding in new ideas around remake and reuse of garments and materials, data analyses around collected preowned and claimed garments or support and coordination for creative external collaborations around remake and keeping up with the innovation and trends around circularity.
Working days will be varied between creative, experimental, and hands-on tasks, having circularity at the heart of everything! You will be part of a small but driven team that collaborates across departments in the company.
As a circularity intern you will be introduced to all the different aspects of Filippa K and will gain insight to developing circularity in the fashion industry and understanding how to take circularity in consideration in design process. Your tasks could include sorting, washing and registering data with incoming collect and claim garments; help with mending and developing techniques for remaking; experimenting, research, pattern making and sewing; organizing workshops around circular initiatives internally and externally.
We’re looking for someone who:
- You are a student studying a bachelor or master’s degree in fashion or textile design with interest in circularity and sustainability or similar
- You are creative and have sustainable mindset in everything you do
- You are structured, take initiative and enjoy versatile tasks
- You enjoy experimental processes and hands-on work with garments
- Creative skills as sewing, pattern making, weaving, knitting, dying printing are a plus (but not a requirement)
- English both written and spoken
The role will be in Stockholm and is a full-time for at least 4-6 months to start in January/February 2022. The internship must be a part of a university program or program at Arbetsförmedlingen.
